ELECTRIFY 3078 - Electrification in Alphington & Fairfield

Switching from gas to all-electric homes and transport is one of the most effective ways our community can cut carbon emissions, reduce household energy bills and improve our health. Electrification means powering our heating, hot water, cooking and vehicles with clean electricity – creating a healthier, more sustainable future for Alphington and Fairfield.

• Electrify Yarra
  Our neighbours in the City of Yarra have kicked off a fantastic community      campaign to support households making the switch. Their website features:
  • Real-life case studies showing the costs and benefits of electrifying homes.
  • Guidance on navigating government rebates to make upgrades more affordable.
  • A list of accredited local tradespeople specialising in installing electric appliances and infrastructure.
• Darebin Climate Action Now - Electrify
  DCAN maintains a web page with a practical guide on electrification, plus you can book a free consultation with an electrification expert.  A DCAN volunteer will visit your home to do an initial assessment to get you started (finished) on your home electrification journey.
• Electrify Boroondara
  Although outside our local area, Electrify Boroondara was one of Melbourne’s early adopters. Their success shows how community-led electrification can inspire action across the city.

AFCA is exploring ways to connect our community with electrification initiatives, resources and success stories. Our goal is to make it easier for households and businesses to join the shift to a cleaner, renewable-powered future.
